Terms and conditions

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms apply when you book a place on one of our masterclasses, webinars, or Grant Clinic sessions through this website. Please read them before you book. If you have an engagement letter with us for consultancy or grant work, that letter governs your work with us and these terms do not.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

1.1 These terms are between you and Sharp Insight Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13732934, trading as Sharp Insights. Where these terms say "we", "us", or "our", they mean Sharp Insight Ltd.

1.2 They apply when you book a place on a masterclass, a webinar, or a Grant Clinic session through our website or our course platform. We are the seller. Our course platform and our payment provider act for us; your contract is with Sharp Insight Ltd.

1.3 They do not apply to consultancy, grant services, or training delivered under a separate agreement. Those are covered by the engagement letter or proposal we agree with you.

1.4 They do not apply to our software products. Juno and Theia are covered by our terms of service.

1.5 By booking, you accept these terms.

2. The words we use

2.1 A session means any masterclass, webinar, or Grant Clinic session we run and you have booked a place on, whether it is delivered online or in person.

2.2 A place means one person's booking on one session.

2.3 The start date is the date and time the first part of a session is scheduled to begin, as published on its booking page.

3. Booking

3.1 Your booking is an offer to buy a place. A contract between us comes into existence when we send you a booking confirmation by email. If we cannot accept your booking we will tell you and will not charge you, or will refund you if you have already paid.

3.2 Places are limited and are allocated in the order bookings are confirmed.

3.3 You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us when booking, including the name and email address of the person attending. Please tell us as soon as possible if any of it changes.

3.4 A place is for one named person. If you want to send a colleague instead, clause 7 covers that.

4. Prices and payment

4.1 The price of a place is the price published on its booking page at the time you book.

4.2 Prices are in pounds sterling. Where a price is shown excluding VAT, VAT is added at checkout at the applicable rate. Where a price is shown including VAT, it is the total you pay.

4.3 Payment is taken in full at the time of booking.

4.4 If you are paying from outside the United Kingdom, your bank or card issuer may charge you a currency conversion or international transaction fee. That fee is between you and them, and we cannot refund it.

4.5 We may run promotional prices or discounts from time to time. Only one discount applies per booking, discounts must be applied at the time of booking, and we cannot apply one afterwards.

4.6 Some webinars are free. Clauses 4 to 6 deal with payment, refunds, and cancellation, so they apply to paid sessions only. If you have a free place and cannot come, please tell us so we can offer it to someone else.

5. Your right to change your mind

5.1 If you are a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day after we confirm your booking to cancel and get your money back. You do not need to give a reason.

5.2 If you are booking as a business, we give you the same 14 day right anyway, even though the Regulations do not require us to.

5.3 If a session starts inside those 14 days, we can only deliver it during that period if you ask us to. At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want us to start inside the 14 days, and that you understand your right to cancel ends once the session has finished. If you give that request, you can still cancel before the session starts and get a full refund. If you cancel after it has started but before it has finished, we will refund you, less a proportionate amount for the part already delivered. Once the session has finished, including any later parts, your right to cancel under this clause ends. If you do not give the request, we will not start delivering to you until the 14 days have passed or you tell us to begin.

5.4 To cancel under this clause, email us at support@sharpinsights.co.uk before the 14 days are up. Saying so clearly in an email is enough. You can use the model cancellation form in clause 5.6 if you prefer, but you do not have to.

5.5 We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, using the same payment method you used to book.

5.6 The model cancellation form. You can copy it into an email:

To Sharp Insight Ltd, C/O Read & Associates Ltd, 18 Davy Avenue, Knowlhill, Milton Keynes MK5 8PL, support@sharpinsights.co.uk:
I/We [*] hereby give notice that I/We [*] cancel my/our [*] contract of sale of the following goods [*]/for the supply of the following service [*],
Ordered on [*]/received on [*],
Name of consumer(s),
Address of consumer(s),
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper),
Date
[*] Delete as appropriate.

5.7 Not attending is not the same as cancelling. If you have not cancelled under clause 5.4 and you do not attend, the session has still taken place, your right to cancel has ended, and there is no refund. If you cannot attend, email us at support@sharpinsights.co.uk before the session starts.

6. Cancelling after the 14 days

6.1 This clause applies once your right to cancel under clause 5 has ended, whether because the 14 days have passed or because the session has finished. Until then, clause 5 applies. After that, you can still cancel a place at any time by emailing support@sharpinsights.co.uk. What you get back depends on how much notice you give us, because a place held for you is a place we could not sell to somebody else.

6.2 Cancelling more than 28 days before the start date: a full refund.

6.3 Cancelling between 14 and 28 days before the start date: a refund of 75% of the price.

6.4 Cancelling less than 14 days before the start date, or after the session has started: no refund. You may transfer your place instead, under clause 7.

6.5 If you cannot attend because of illness or another serious circumstance outside your control, please tell us. We will look at it properly and we can refund or transfer you where it is fair to do so, including inside the window in clause 6.4.

6.6 Not attending is not grounds for a refund. If you do not attend and have not told us in advance, clause 6.4 applies. If you cannot attend, email us at support@sharpinsights.co.uk as soon as you can; clause 6.5 explains what we can do.

6.7 We do not refund travel, accommodation, or any other cost you have incurred to attend a session, whoever cancels it and for whatever reason. If you are booking travel for an in-person session, please make sure it is refundable or insured.

6.8 For a Grant Clinic session, this clause applies instead of clause 7.2: you can move your booking to another time at no charge if you tell us more than 48 hours before the start; otherwise clause 6.4 applies.

7. Transfers

7.1 You can move your booking to a different person at no charge, up to the start date. Email us their name and email address.

7.2 You can move your booking to a later run of the same session once, at no charge, if you tell us more than 14 days before the start date. A second move is at our discretion, and we may charge the difference if the later session costs more.

8. If we change or cancel a session

8.1 We will run sessions as advertised wherever we can. Sometimes we cannot, usually because too few people have booked, or because of illness, weather, or something else outside our control.

8.2 If we cancel a session, we will tell you as soon as we know and at least 14 days before the start date where that is possible. You can then either move to another session, paying or being refunded any difference in price, or cancel and take a full refund.

8.3 If we cancel part of a session, we will reschedule that part or extend the remaining parts to cover it. If we cannot, we will refund you a fair proportion of the price.

8.4 We may make changes to a session that do not materially affect what you get: the timetable, the platform, the room, or who is leading it. We will give you as much notice as we can.

8.5 If we change a session materially, you may cancel and take a full refund.

8.6 Where we cancel or change a session, we are not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other costs you have incurred.

9. What we provide

9.1 We will deliver each session with reasonable care and skill.

9.2 Masterclasses and webinars are practical and the material is general. A Grant Clinic session is about your own questions. Nothing we say in any session is legal, financial, tax, or regulatory advice. Decisions you take after a session are yours.

9.3 We do not promise any particular outcome. No session guarantees that you will win a grant, raise investment, find customers, or reach a market.

9.4 We record every session. After the session we email the recording to everyone who booked a place, whether or not they attended, and it is available for 30 days. The recording is for use inside your own organisation. Please do not share it outside your organisation, publish it, or use it to deliver training to anyone else. If you speak or turn your camera on, you will appear in the recording that everyone who booked receives; if you would rather not appear, keep your camera and microphone off. We will say at the start of each session that it is being recorded.

9.5 Where we give you materials, slides, templates, or worksheets, you may use them inside your own organisation. You may not resell them, publish them, or use them to deliver training to anyone else.

9.6 Everything we provide remains ours, or our licensors', unless we say otherwise in writing. Booking a place does not transfer any of it to you.

10. Your conduct

10.1 Sessions are small and depend on people being able to speak openly. We ask you not to record, photograph, or broadcast a session, or to share what other participants say outside the room.

10.2 Where a session uses an online platform, please do not share your joining link. It is for the person named on the booking.

10.3 We may remove somebody from a session, without a refund, if their behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, or is preventing other people from taking part.

11. Photography and recordings

11.1 Any photograph or recording you take during a session is for your own private use. Please do not post it publicly or share it outside the session.

11.2 We do not photograph or film participants for our own promotional use without asking. Where we would like to use an image or a recording in which you appear, we will ask you at the time and you are free to say no.

12. If something goes wrong

12.1 If you are unhappy with a session, please tell us. Email support@sharpinsights.co.uk and we will respond within five working days.

12.2 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12.3 Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with a booking is limited to the price you paid for it.

12.4 If you are booking as a business, we are not liable for lost profit, lost business, lost opportunity, or damage to reputation.

13. Your data

13.1 We use the personal information you give us when booking to run the session, take payment, and contact you about it. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.

13.2 We do not sell your personal information.

14. General

14.1 We may update these terms. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones published when you booked.

14.2 If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still apply.

14.3 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
