Carbon13: Grant Funding Support for ClimateTech Founders

Challenge: Early-stage ClimateTech founders on the Carbon13 programme needed practical support to understand the grant funding landscape, assess which opportunities were relevant, and strengthen their ability to develop competitive applications.

Approach: Supported Carbon13 founders over a one-year period through a combination of grant funding workshops and one-to-one founder clinics. The workshops covered grant strategy, opportunity selection and application development, while the clinics gave founders tailored support on their individual projects, eligibility, positioning and next funding steps.

Outcomes

  • Supported Carbon13 founders over a six-month period

  • Delivered practical grant funding workshops for early-stage ClimateTech companies

  • Provided one-to-one founder clinics for tailored grant and project advice

  • Helped founders assess fit, eligibility and timing across relevant funding opportunities

  • Supported stronger project scoping and clearer commercial narratives for applications

  • Combined cohort learning with individual support so founders could apply the learning directly to their own ventures
